About Us

The Mushroom Spot was founded by “best-friends-since-high-school” Ward Watson and Linh Nguyen, both of whom share a life-long interest in mushrooms and their intersection with human culture.

Our store features a small-scale indoor mushroom farm as well as a showroom selling mushrooms and mushroom-related retail items. We hope to become a destination for all who share an interest in cooking, foraging, growing, and celebrating the kingdom of fungi.

Through our store and our website, we aim to improve the accessibility of edible mushrooms and all things fungi-related to our community in the Piedmont region of the Southeast, and beyond.
